About

In the last episode of NBC’s popular comedy, The Office, Andy Bernard said, “I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days before you’ve actually left them.”

Hi, I’m Sarah!  I’m a stay at home mom, Certified Public Accountant, and lifestyle blogger.  Thank you for visiting our website and learning more about These Good Old Days.

After graduating college, I found myself constantly looking back to “the good old days.”  I struggled to accept my various accounting roles and instead daydreamed about the past.  Then, when I left a wonderful job at “Sticky Company” to downsize and try out foster parenting, my time at Sticky Company was suddenly “the good old days.”  Why had I ever left?

When our daughter Bugaboo was born and I became a stay at home mom, I finally realized that the good old days are here and now.  I still struggle to stay in the moment, but I want to remember that these are the good old days, and they are limited!  As a first time mom, I want to help other new moms by blogging about my experiences: questions, concerns, practices, and most of all those little moments that make these days at home with your first baby the good old days.  Even though I may be just a few months ahead in my motherhood journey, I hope I can offer insight and wisdom.

Our little family lives in the Fox Valley suburbs of Chicago, and I’m excited to share activities for families and babies that can help other moms get out of the house and network.

My husband works for “Fast Food Inc.” and we love to try out new fast food concepts and rate various marketing campaigns.

We are practicing Catholics, and we are always trying to incorporate our faith into our day to day lives.

We have an obese beagle mix named Maggie.  I play the violin and love to read, write, and cook.

So please join us as we write about the good old days of parenting!

Thank you for visiting our page!  I hope you’ll continue to follow along as I share These Good Old Days with you!
